Santé et Vie pour Tous
(Health and Life for All) is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO)
which was created in Benin in 2001. We work in the following regions
of southern Benin: Mono Department (localities of Bopa, Houéyogbé,
Lokossa et Comè), Atlantique Department (Ouèdo centre,
hèvié), (Ouidah) and the Littoral Department (Cotonou).
Location
Benin is
a West African country bordered by Togo, Nigeria, Niger, Burkina

Since its
creation, S&VPT has worked in the Departments of Atlantique,
Littoral and Mono in southern Benin. S&VPT headquarters are
in Bopa, in the Department of Mono, about 19km from the town of
Zoungbonou, 26 km from Comè, 34 km from Lokossa and 92 km
from Cotonou (the commercial capital of Benin).
The locality
of Bopa is bordered by the locality of Dogbo Lalo in the north,
the locality of Comè in the south, in the east by Lake Ahémé
and in the West by the localities of Houéyogbé and
Lokossa. It has an area of 365 square kilometres with a population
estimated to be around 70 000 people. The locality of Bopa includes
7 'arrondissements': Agbodji, Badazouin, Bopa, Gbakpodji, Lobogo,
Possotomé et Yègodoé with each of these areas
containing their own villages and town suburbs.

Bopa
is located on the banks of Lake Ahémé.
Objectives
In working
towards sustainable development, S&VPT has the following primary
missions:
- To
promote and support grass-roots community development;
- To share
experiences and practical knowledge;
- To
assist communities in their initiatives.
Global
Objectives
- Reduce
poverty in a sustainable way in rural areas;
- Promote
the social, economic and cultural development of Benin;
- Achieve
concrete results within a decade.
Specific
Objectives
- Reduce
hardship in rural areas by developing systems of micro finance;
- Support
rural organisations in their everyday activities;
- Support
women's collectives in their activites to generate revenue;
- Improve
the health of the rural population;
- Fight
against malaria, AIDS and other serious diseases in Benin;
- Reduce
the maternal and infant mortality rate;
- Ensure
the physical, mental and social well-being of children, parents
and elderly people;
- Promote
hygiene and sanitation in our living environment;
- Make
parents aware of the risks they run in trafficking their children;
- Develop
agriculture, animal raising, fishing, gardening and fish-farming;
- Promote
the involvement of women in the development process;
- Educate
the population about human rights and work towards good governance
in Benin.
